Nondisclosure of Confidential Information 

In carrying out the work of the Rising Oak Foundation, board members and staff may come into possession of confidential information about applicants, donors, grantees and other individuals and organizations. The Foundation, its board members and staff will respect the privacy of such information. 

In particular, the Foundation will:

  • Protect donors' right to privacy (including anonymity) and not disclose privileged or confidential information to unauthorized parties, except to the extent required by law or legal process.
  • Not sell, rent or exchange donors' names and other information with other organizations.
  • Use discretion in the use of information about donors and organizations learned through the grant-making and asset development process.
  • Ensure that all information technology systems operate to protect the confidentiality of Foundation applicants, board members, donors, grantees and staff, and that such information cannot be invaded or distributed to unauthorized users.
